That’s right! At least that’s what a recent article on WebMD says. Drinking a nice, cold glass of fat-free chocolate milk after finishing up a run or a jog is actually better for you in regards to repairing your weary muscles than your average carbohydrate-filled sports drink.
According to a study performed by researchers at the University of Connecticut, scientists found that drinking fat-free chocolate milk after exercising helps to better rebuild your muscles when compared to other energy drinks.
The main factor that makes drinking chocolate milk after a run is the glycogen found in milk, a muscle fuel which in turn helps future performance when replenished properly.
So the next time you go for a quick run or a jog around Turtle Creek, reach for a glass of milk instead of that sugary sports drink and add some chocolate to the mix.
